Summertime fun continues this Thursday as the Folsom Historic District Association (FHDA) Summer Twilight Concert series presented by Historic Folsom Station and Willamette Wineworks lights up the Zittel Family Amphitheater. The event is one of 4 more weeks of live music under the promotion of the FHDA that continues into early September This week it’s the the Death and Taxes Swing Bang hitting the stage. While the band is making its Historic Folsom debut, its not the first time you have seen the members of this group on the local stage here.

The Death and Taxes Swing Band is known for generating pure excitement and a, “swingin’ good time,” according to their music bio as well as numerous media reviews. 

The 5-piece band is a collection of very talented, high-energy performers, led by Rebecca Roudman known for her skills playing an electric cello while singing various vocals. Death and Taxes includes along with her husband, Jason Eckl, on guitar, Colin Williams on bass guitar, Jeff Wheeler on drums and college student J. T., on trombone.

Many may recognize Roudman, she and her husband are also known as the founding force behing the band Dirty Cello and the San Francisco Yiddish Combo. Roudman is a well reviewed classical cellist who has performed on the soundtracks for the Bruce Willis film, Looper, and the Jeremy Renner film, Kill the Messenger and many more notable performances

The 2024 music series presented by Historic Folsom Station and Willamette Wineworks with a number of supporting sponsors that make it all possible. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and continues for two hours. An early arrival to the amphitheater is suggested to reserve a spot, guests are urged to bring low-backed chairs that sit close to the ground or picnic blankets. The concert is free for all ages.
