This TGIF early show begins at 7:00 p.m. and delivers a soulful, nostalgic journey through hits that shaped generations, from “Brown Eyed Girl” to “House of the Rising Sun.” It’s a perfect way to ease into the weekend with timeless classics and a smooth sound.
Later Friday night, things heat up when 2Bad: The Michael Jackson Tribute hits the Powerhouse stage at 10:00 p.m. This electrifying show takes audiences on a high-octane journey through four decades of Michael Jackson’s greatest hits, from “Bad” and “Smooth Criminal” to “Billie Jean,” “Rock With You,” and beyond—including iconic Jackson 5 tracks. Brought to life by Adam Aldama & The Aces, this performance features slick choreography, live harmonies, and nonstop energy from a group of five talented musicians and singers who know how to bring MJ’s music to life for all ages.
Steelin Dan
On Saturday, June 21, the groove continues in the afternoon with the Steelin’ Dan Seven Piece Band for the Saturday Dance Party starting at 3:00 p.m. This scaled-down format of the famed 10-piece tribute act features key rhythm section members, lead vocals, and saxophone from Steelin’ Dan, Northern California’s most awarded Steely Dan tribute. Known for flawless renditions of hits like “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number,” “Do It Again,” and “Reelin’ In The Years,” Steelin’ Dan has built a loyal fanbase through two decades of acclaimed performances across the state. Their Saturday matinee brings jazz-rock excellence and sophisticated sounds to the heart of Folsom.
As night falls, Knowbody brings an eclectic dance set to the Powerhouse stage with a 10:00 p.m. start. Known for covering crowd-favorite rock and pop tracks that span decades, their setlist is packed with hits that get people moving and keep the party going late into the night. Whether you’re into classic singalongs or upbeat anthems, Knowbody delivers a full-throttle performance with plenty of surprises.
The weekend wraps up on a soulful note with Powerhouse of Blues on Sunday, June 22, featuring the award-winning Rick Estrin & The Nightcats. With a career spanning decades, Estrin’s signature harmonica work, hipster flair, and witty lyricism have made him one of the blues scene’s most entertaining frontmen.
Rick Estrin and the Nightcats
Backed by a world-class band including Kid Andersen on guitar, Lorenzo Farrell on keys, and Derrick Martin on drums, the Nightcats are known for wild, unpredictable shows and expert musicianship. Fresh off their acclaimed album Contemporary, they bring a mix of classic blues and modern grooves that showcase why they earned the 2018 Blues Music Award for Band of the Year. This is a can’t-miss Sunday matinee for any blues fan.
