AMADOR COUNTY -Saddle up and step back in time as the Days of 49 Celebration have kicked off in Amador County, offering a five-day Wagon Train Adventure through this Sunday where “history comes alive,” according to John Queirolo, Treasurer of Kit Carson Mountain Men.
The journey begins in Plymouth and winds its way through Drytown, Amador City, Sutter Creek, and Jackson, with stops in each town along the way. Each evening, visitors can experience the Circle the Wagons Event, where they can get up close to the wagons, indulge in Cowboy BBQs, enjoy live music, dance, and revel in the festive atmosphere.
The pinnacle of the celebration arrives onSunday with the Days of 49 Parade, featuring the Wagon Train, Kiddies on Parade, and floats representing the towns and businesses of Amador County. Immediately following the parade, Jackson hosts the Days of 49 Main Street Celebration, complete with period reenactments, Living History stations, kid activities, food trucks, live bands, and much more.
Visitors are encouraged to experience the Historic Wagon Train, offering a glimpse into life as it was in 1849 as it ventures through the picturesque landscapes of Amador County.
