Acclaimed guitarist, vocalist and songwriter closes out weekend with Powerhouse of Blues performance in Historic Folsom
Blues-rock fans will have an opportunity to experience one of the genre’s most respected touring performers Sunday afternoon as acclaimed guitarist, vocalist and songwriter AC Myles takes the stage at Powerhouse Pub for the latest installment of the venue’s ongoing Powerhouse of Blues series.
Set for Sunday, June 14 at 3 p.m., the performance brings a musician whose career has taken him from California’s agricultural communities to major blues festivals and concert stages throughout North America and Europe.
Known for his commanding live performances, expressive guitar work and soulful vocals, Myles has spent years building his reputation the traditional way — onstage. Long before streaming platforms and social media helped launch careers, Myles was developing his craft through relentless touring, live performances and a dedication to musicianship that continues to define his sound today.
Born and raised in California, Myles grew up in a working-class family before launching his own bands and beginning a musical journey that eventually took him across the country and around the world. Along the way, he established himself as a respected performer capable of blending electric blues, southern rock and soul into a sound that is both authentic and distinctly his own.
His touring résumé includes appearances at some of the blues world’s most respected events and venues, including Switzerland’s Lucerne Blues Festival and France’s Cognac Blues Passions. He has also performed at House of Blues venues and San Francisco’s Davies Symphony Hall while sharing stages with artists such as Buddy Guy, Zac Brown Band and Elvin Bishop.
Those experiences helped shape a performer whose live shows are built around feel, tone and connection rather than flashy production. Critics have consistently praised both his musicianship and songwriting, with Alligator Records founder Bruce Iglauer describing Myles as delivering a “solid, confident performance with strong guitar and vocals and keen attention to tone.”

Throughout his recording career, Myles has continued to expand his sound while remaining grounded in blues traditions. Albums including Reconsider Me (2014), Rush to Red (2015), With These Blues (2017) and Transitory (2021) have received international airplay and earned praise for combining strong songwriting with memorable guitar work.
His music ranges from blues-driven grooves and soulful ballads to guitar-heavy rockers, creating a catalog that appeals to both traditional blues audiences and fans of roots-based rock music. That versatility has helped Myles build a loyal following while earning recognition as one of the West Coast’s most accomplished blues-rock performers.
