Kirk Basquez performs Friday night, Ride Captain Ride on Saturday
Red Hawk Resort Casino continues its live music series this weekend with two very different genres of entertainment spanning two nights at the casino stage bar. Friday night features the return of country music by Kirk Basquez and Los Vaqueros, following by the yacht rock talents of Ride Captain Ride on Saturday.
Born and raised in Northern California and coming from a large family of musicians, Basquez always cites that, “country music is his jam,” as he has been on musical journey in which was he influenced to venture on by some of country music’s biggest names.
That journey started when Matthew was just six years old when his mother bought him his first guitar and the rest is history as followed influences of Hank Williams Jr. Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Jamey Johnson, Sturgill Simpson, JohnMayer and many others.
Basquez loves performing live on stage most of all, where he strives to give his fans the same joy music gives him. “There is nothing better than experiencing the energy from a crowd that loves your style of music, “ says Basquez, who is known for a variety of shows in the region including many in South Lake Tahoe. He has also done a great deal of collaboration with the well known Cripple Creek Band.
Basquez take the stage starting at 8 p.m. on Friday. The show continues until midnight and there is no cover charge.
On Saturday, the music begins a bit later at 10 p.m. as Ride Captain Ride will bring the Yacht Rock experience to the Red Hawk stage. This regional group will be playing your favorite soft rock hits from the 70s and and 80s. Beneath the sailing attire, you may recognize the members of this group as they are one of the many components of Gotcha Covered Music, which has been long known for the band Gotcha Covered, Gotcha Country and others. They offer a diverse catalog of music and Saturday night will surely have you sailing away on the dance floor.
Ride Captain Ride will take to the Red Hawk stage on Saturday night for the second in two nights of live music.
