The artistic is comfortable playing soft instrumentals from background shadows as well as being center stage under the spotlight.
Raised mostly in Alabama, Esterling has musical roots in southern rock, honky tonk, country, easy listening, R & B, pop, Mississippi blues, classic rock, and later tin pan alley, jazz, big band, and swing. Rick enjoys the music of John Phillips Sousa as much as John Williams as much as John Prine, John Denver, John Fogerty, and Jon Bon Jovi.
Esterling shares his passion and enthusiasm for many genres and styles of music at every performance he puts on that always is inclusive with a collection of storytelling that is always entertaining.
