The California State Fair is gearing up to host the highly anticipated Best of California Brewfest this week, featuring a meticulously curated selection of the state’s top craft beers from 2024.

The California State Fair opened last Friday, but on this Friday, July 19, beer aficionados can converge at Heart Health Park for an evening of unlimited tastings from a lineup of esteemed breweries, promising a celebration of California’s rich brewing culture.

The event, spanning five days, saw nearly 900 entries judged by industry experts who evaluated beers based on clarity, aroma, and flavor. This rigorous process culminated in the selection of brews that will be showcased exclusively at the Brewfest.

Tickets are on sale, offering general admission for $45 and VIP access for $55, which includes early entry starting at 4 p.m. VIP ticket holders will have the opportunity to savor their favorites before the gates open to general admission at 5 p.m. Designated driver tickets are available for $20, ensuring safe transportation for all attendees. All participants must be 21 or older with valid identification.

Among the breweries featured at this year’s Brewfest are some of California’s finest, including previous award winners like The Monk’s Cellar, which was named Brewery of the Year in 2023, and HiDef Brewing Co., recognized for its Flathead Six Hazy IPA as the 2023 Best of Show winner. Angel City Brewery, celebrated for its innovative beers, will also return after winning the 2022 Best of Show with “L.A. Blonde.”

Additional participating breweries will be announced via social media channels leading up to the event.
