60’s Summer of Love, Power Play Band kick off August live music series 

Red Hawk Casino Resort presents two nights of live music this weekend with a night of 60’s tunes followed by a type of top 40 hits. It starts with the 60’s Summer of Love band on Friday night, followed by the return of Power Play on Saturday night at the casino stage bar. 

The music of the 60’s holds a special memory for those who grew up with it. It was music one could always sing along with, music you could dance to, music you fell in love with.  Today, the 60’s Summer of Love Band brings all the memorable music from the 60’s together for you in one great show. 

The 60’s Summer of Love Band is a six-piece ensemble that performs everything from The Beatles and the Stones to Aretha Franklin and CCR. The band also dresses in period clothes to take the audience back to those magical years as they perform many of the era’s biggest hits.  The 60’s Summer of Love Band takes to the Red Hawk stage Friday night starting at 8 p.m. and will keep the dance floor busy until midnight in the casino’s stage bar.

On Saturday,night it’s the energetic Power Play performing all of your favorite dance hits an top 40s. Power Play has long been bannered as one of the region’s most dynamic dance party bands. The group has several stellar voices that can cover everything from Lady Gaga, to Johnny Cash, to Eminem and a multitude of artists in between. 

The band is known for its high energy and performs top 40 hits that are sure to get you on the dance floor. Powerplay lights up the stage Saturday at 10:00 p.m until 2 a.m. on Saturday.
