On Tuesday evening, Powerhouse Pub welcomed community members as representatives from Choose Folsom, the Cty of Folsom and Sacramento County onto its LED dance floor for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the venue’s 25th anniversary.

Before becoming one of the region’s most popular live music venues, the location that is now Powerhouse has served various purposes, including a livery stable and a car dealership.

Over the past century and a half, it has transformed into a hub for live music, continuing this tradition for the last 50 years. Since opening its doors in 1999, Powerhouse Pub has entertained thousands of music and dance enthusiasts.

The venue has evolved from a single bar and stage to a unique establishment featuring five bars and three distinct stage areas. Live music spans all genres and is scheduled every day of the week, except Mondays. Additionally, there are two DJ booths on the outdoor deck and at Scarlets Specialty Bar. Approximately 1,000 fans visit each week to enjoy great sounds, drinks, and a lively atmosphere in the venue’s vibrant, sensory-rich decor.

According to Murray Weaver, who opened the venue in 1999, most of the staff have been with Powerhouse for 20 years. The pub is run with passion and professionalism by owner Nazaria Nguyen, whose focus on friendliness and safety has contributed to the venue’s iconic status in an industry often characterized by short lifespans.

The Powerhouse concept embraces constant evolution—its decor, drinks, state-of-the-art LED dance floor, and special effects are designed to be as entertaining as the music, always adding new vibrancy to the Powerhouse experience.

Powerhouse Pub is located at 614 Sutter Street in Historic Folsom. For more information on tickets and upcoming events, visit their website at www.powerhousepub.com.
