The captivating story of earth’s resilience and biodiversity will come to life at Harris Center on Sunday, October 20, as Emmy-nominated showrunner Dan Tapster presents Our Planet Live: Life on Our Planet. This immersive natural history event offers audiences a unique, behind-the-scenes look at the Netflix Original documentary series, Life on Our Planet.

The show—created by Silverback Films in collaboration with Netflix—combines breathtaking footage, engaging stories, and stunning visuals. Tapster, known for his work on MythBusters and BBC’s Life of Mammals, will share insights into the challenges and triumphs of creating the series, focusing on the fragility of life, climate migration, and environmental preservation. Through video and imagery, the presentation captures the beauty and vulnerability of Earth’s ecosystems, highlighting the urgent need for action in combating climate change.

“Hundreds of filmmakers, editors, and conservationists poured their heart into this project,” says Sir David Attenborough. “It tells a story that is both timely and universal.”

Tapster’s career is full of adventure, from being kidnapped in Ecuador to accidentally firing cannonballs through homes. After leaving MythBusters, Tapster joined Silverback Films to lead Life on Our Planet, a series executive-produced by Steven Spielberg that blends natural history storytelling with state-of-the-art visual effects.

The show takes place on Sunday, October 20 at 7:30 PM at Harris Center for the Arts in Folsom. Tickets are available at the Harris Center Box Office by phone at (916) 608-6888 or online at HarrisCenter.net. Box Office hours are Tuesday through Friday from noon to 5 PM and one hour before showtime.
