The Harris Center for the Arts will bring the wonders of the natural world to the stage with The Making of Our Planet – Frozen Worlds on Friday, April 18. This immersive live speaker event, based on the Emmy Award-winning Our Planet series from Netflix, will feature behind-the-scenes stories from filmmakers, scientists, and adventurers who have captured some of Earth’s most breathtaking landscapes.

Hosted by natural history producer and director Elisabeth Oakham, the event will take audiences deep into the planet’s frozen frontiers, exploring the challenges faced by wildlife and the ever-changing Arctic and Antarctic landscapes. From the struggles of polar bears and walruses to the impact of climate change on fragile ecosystems, Frozen Worlds will illuminate the delicate balance of life in these extreme environments.

Oakham, who has worked on nature documentaries for Netflix, National Geographic, and the BBC, will guide audiences through stunning footage and expert insights. She joins a tradition of modern explorers who have ventured into these remote territories to bring back stories of survival and adaptation.

Presented by Silverback Films in association with Netflix and producer Esk, The Making of Our Planet series offers a rare look into the dedication and challenges behind capturing the natural world on film. Sir David Attenborough, narrator of Our Planet, described the project as “the most important story that there is—a story that could not be more universal or more timely.”

Tickets for The Making of Our Planet – Frozen Worlds are on sale now through the Harris Center Box Office at (916) 608-6888 or online at HarrisCenter.net. Box office hours are Tuesday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and one hour before showtime.
