If you’re ready for live country music, line dancing, and a little extra cash in your pocket, then Powerhouse Pub in Historic Folsom is the place to be tonight. The weekend of live music kicks off Thursday, April 3, with Brisco County, a fun-loving, high-energy country-western band that brings a dance-ready vibe to every show.
Country Thursdays starts with free line dance lessons at 7:30 p.m., followed by live music at 9 p.m. and cash giveaways throughout the night. Brisco County, based in the Sacramento region, is well-known for delivering a crowd-pleasing mix of country classics, modern hits, and crossover favorites. Whether you’re into two-stepping, swing dancing, line dancing, or just enjoying a drink while listening to great music, Brisco County caters to it all.
According to their bio, Brisco County’s goal is simple—share their passion for music in a way that encourages everyone to sing, dance, or simply unwind. From waltzes and cha chas to hard-hitting honky-tonk, they roll out the hits with infectious enthusiasm. As the band puts it, “We pay your country favorites. Hope to see you soon on the Brisco train!”
More weekend entertainment ahead at Powerhouse
The party keeps rolling on Friday, April 4, with an early 7 p.m. performance by The Band Unleashed. This versatile party rock group delivers favorite anthems from the ’70s through today, creating a dance floor frenzy with every song. Tambourines, sing-alongs, and crowd participation are part of the deal—Unleashed is all about letting loose and having fun.
Grooveline
Later Friday night, Grooveline takes the stage at 10 p.m., lighting up the room with old-school R&B, funk, and Latin rock. Known for their explosive horns, layered guitars, and dynamic vocals, Grooveline guarantees a full-on dance party that pulses with energy from start to finish.
Saturday, April 5, starts early with a 3 p.m. set from Todd Morgan & The Emblems as part of the Saturday Afternoon Dance Party. This retro-inspired group takes it back to the golden era of rock ’n’ roll, performing favorites from the 1950s and ’60s with infectious charm and charisma.

Saturday night, it’s a double bill of entertainment. Powerplay hits the stage at 10 p.m., serving up a powerhouse set of 2000s dance hits and party favorites. Their polished stage presence and massive setlist have earned them a strong following throughout Northern California.

Meanwhile, Heart Strings Cabaret, hosted by Jean Heart and DJ Rigatony, brings a glitter-filled burlesque and variety show to Powerhouse beginning at 7 p.m. Expect a night of dazzling costumes, bold performances, and live local entertainment. Tickets are $20 for the 21+ show.
The weekend winds down with Powerhouse of Blues on Sunday, April 6, featuring Mighty Mike Schermer at 3 p.m. A legendary blues and roots guitarist and singer, Schermer has played alongside greats like Bonnie Raitt, Elvin Bishop, and Marcia Ball. Known for his searing tone and deeply personal songwriting, Schermer’s shows are both powerful and soulful—an ideal close to a weekend full of music.
