Concert features Garratt Wilkin & The Parrotheads, The Sugar High Band, and community celebration under the stars

This Saturday, the Zittel Family Amphitheater in Historic Folsom will come alive with music, celebration, and a mission of hope during the 8th Annual Light Up the Dark Music Festival, a benefit event supporting the life-changing work of Powerhouse Ministries. The community is encouraged to enjoy an uplifting evening of live music, food, and purpose, all dedicated to ending the cycles of addiction, abuse, and poverty in the region.

Powerhouse Ministries has served the Folsom area for more than 30 years, working tirelessly to empower individuals and families to rise above adversity. Through faith-based programs, supportive housing, addiction recovery, and community outreach, the nonprofit organization has helped transform countless lives. Light Up the Dark is one of its most significant fundraisers of the year—and an experience that unites entertainment with impact.

Garratt Wilkin & The Parrotheads headline with Margaritaville

Headlining this year’s festival is Garratt Wilkin & The Parrotheads, the nation’s premier tribute to Jimmy Buffett. Formed in the Sacramento Valley in 1999, the band has since become a beloved staple on the national tribute circuit, known for capturing the island spirit and good-time vibes of Buffett’s timeless catalog. Whether performing as a six-piece or a 13-member ensemble featuring steel drums and horns, The Parrotheads deliver a concert experience filled with energy, tropical charm, and crowd-pleasing classics like “Margaritaville,” “Come Monday,” and “Cheeseburger in Paradise.”

From county fairs and corporate events to festivals in Nashville and even Maui, Garratt Wilkin & The Parrotheads have built a following that spans generations. Their show in Historic Folsom is expected to draw Buffett fans from across the region for a night of beach-style tunes under the stars—no plane ticket required.

The Sugar High Band delivers a soulful, genre-bending performance

Sharing the bill is The Sugar High Band, an eight-member powerhouse from Sacramento making waves with their signature fusion of R&B, pop, funk, and soul. Founded in 2017, the band features a dynamic trio of lead vocalists—Melissa Corona, Mike Rivera, and Eddie Tacdol Jr.—who deliver electrifying performances backed by a talented rhythm section and keyboardists. Sugar High is praised not only for their tight musicianship and infectious grooves, but for their message-driven music that touches on love, resilience, social justice, and personal growth.
