Free line dancing lessons offered before Thursday show that kicks off four days of live music
Country music returns to Historic Folsom’s Powerhouse Pub this Thursday as Kirk Basquez brings his signature blend of traditional and modern country to the stage for the venue’s popular Country Thursdays series.
A born performer with deep musical roots, Basquez grew up in a large family of musicians and proudly says, “country music is my jam.” That passion began early—when he was just six years old, his mother gave him his first guitar, and he hasn’t looked back since. Influenced by legends like Hank Williams Jr., Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, and Jamey Johnson, as well as modern artists such as Sturgill Simpson and John Mayer, Basquez delivers a unique sound that resonates with fans of all generations.
Known throughout the South Lake Tahoe region and beyond, Basquez has built a reputation for heartfelt, high-energy performances that connect deeply with live audiences. Whether it’s a honky-tonk crowd or a casino stage, his show is one that sticks with you long after the last chord.
As part of Powerhouse’s Country Thursdays, the evening kicks off with free line dance lessons at 7:30 p.m., followed by Basquez’s live set starting at 9:00 p.m. Admission is free and open to guests 21 and over.
Powerhouse Pub, located at 614 Sutter Street in Historic Folsom, offers a unique nightlife experience with a high-tech LED dance floor, multiple bars, and a vibrant party atmosphere. Free parking is available at the garage at 905 Leidesdorff Street, and a complimentary shuttle runs between the garage and the club entrance. Seating is first come, first served, so early arrival is recommended.

Saturday afternoon kicks off with a live dance party as Tijuana Weekend takes the stage from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Their upbeat set offers a fun and lively way to enjoy the early part of the weekend in Powerhouse’s signature indoor-outdoor setting.
That night, the energy ramps up with Midnight Players at 10:00 p.m., bringing their blend of Old School R&B, Funk, Oldies, and Latin hits to the stage.
