SACRAMENTO — The curtain is about to close on the 2025 California State Fair, and Sunday’s swan song promises to be as unforgettable as the 17 days that led to it.
With perfect weather that has drawn record-setting crowds, fairgoers now have one final day—Sunday, July 27—to take in everything the fair has to offer. From soulful headliners and high-energy cultural showcases to culinary showdowns, youth livestock champions, and fireworks, it’s the last, best chance to experience California’s biggest summer celebration before the gates close for another year.
Final day headliner: En Vogue takes center stage
While several standout performers are slated for Sunday’s entertainment lineup, Sunday’s music reaches its peak with the iconic R&B group En Vogue at 8 p.m. on the Sky River Casino Stage. Known for their electrifying harmonies and timeless appeal, En Vogue is expected to deliver an unforgettable finale performance to close out this year’s fair.
Timeless—that’s what comes to mind the moment the resonant voices of En Vogue pour through the airwaves. With their single “Rocket” breaking the Billboard UAC Top 10 chart and the global release of their “Electric Café” album, En Voguecontinues to define excellence in vocal performance and stage presence.
Members Cindy Herron-Braggs, Terry Ellis, and Rhona Bennett make up one of the highest-selling American female music groups in history, having sold over 20 million albums. With over 30 million streams and more than 26 million YouTube views on hit singles like “Hold On,” “Free Your Mind,” “Never Gonna Get It,” “Giving Him Something He Can Feel,” “Don’t Let Go,” and “Whatta Man” (with Salt-N-Pepa), their influence is undeniable.
Their 2018 album “Electric Café” marked a fresh creative chapter for the group, featuring collaborations with Ne-Yo, Curtis “Sauce” Wilson, and Raphael Saadiq. Known for their powerhouse performances, the trio has maintained a steady international touring schedule, including major tours across Europe. Off stage, they remain committed to philanthropy, supporting causes like The HollyRod Foundation and nonprofit efforts to combat human trafficking.
Entertainment across the fairgrounds
On Sunday, the fair is packed with live performances across multiple stages. Jimmy Ashley performs from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on the Farmers Brewing Craft Brew Stage, while Sheryl and The Pretenders will play two sets at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. at the Don Julio Outlaw Bar & Stage. The Richard March Band follows with back-to-back sets from 8:30 to 10:20 p.m. at the same location.
Meanwhile, the ICANGOTOCOLLEGE.com Promenade Stage comes alive throughout the day with performances from Sacramento Taiko Dan, XLMPAA, Ballet Folklorico Raices Mexicanas de Maria Valdovinos, BACKSTAGE Performing Arts Center, Victoria Mendoza Folkloric Group, Zumba with Traci and Friends, Violet Marie, Anthony Boccaleoni, Monarca Dance Academy, and La Marcha Sound closing out the night with two sets starting at 9 p.m.
The Save Mart Wine Garden Stage will continue to host Jay Rin and Jimmy Becker, while DJ Memo Aguilera spins high-energy sets from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Estrella Jalisco Cantina 1854 Stage.
Other Sunday performances include Buckteeth at the Kona Brewing Tiki Bar Stage, Michael Walker Country at the Don Julio Outlaw Bar & Stage from 2 to 4 p.m., Todd Morgan & the Emblems with back-to-back sets at the 805 Blues & Brews Stage, Tony y su Terremoto Norteno at the Estrella Jalisco Cantina 1854 Stage, and William Russell bringing mellow afternoon vibes to the Save Mart Wine Garden Stage from 12 to 3 p.m.
Exhibits, competitions and the final fireworks show
Beyond the music, Sunday is your last chance to explore the buildings and attractions that have drawn hundreds of thousands this year. In Expo Center 1–8, guests can browse fine arts, photography, student projects, and crafts. Kids and families will enjoy hands-on STEM exhibits and the always popular California Forest Center. Livestock shows wrap up Sunday, including the final round of Junior Livestock Showmanship events and the concluding day of the Small Animal Pavilion.
Food lovers can take one last bite out of deep-fried everything, barbecue delights, and fresh California-grown treats at the Save Mart California’s Kitchen. Don’t forget to stop by the Cannabis Exhibit and the Farm to Glass Experience before they close for the year.
