RANCHO CORDOVA—Break out the bell bottoms and get ready to groove as the Rancho Cordova Summer Concert Series continues this Friday night with a high-energy performance by the Neon Playboys. The Northern California dance and party band is set to transform Village Green Park into a full-blown retro dance floor with all the best hits from the 70s and 80s.
The Neon Playboys are four seasoned musicians who have made a name for themselves by turning every show into a lively, crowd-moving experience. With a playlist packed full of favorites from the Commodores, Bee Gees, David Bowie, and Prince, the group blends vintage flair with polished musicianship to deliver a sound that’s equal parts funky, soulful, and fun. Whether you’re a fan of disco, funk, or early pop, this is the night to hit the lawn, grab your spot, and let loose on the dance floor.
Friday’s show marks week three of Rancho Cordova’s popular Friday Night Concert Series, hosted by the Cordova Community Council in partnership with Visit Rancho Cordova. The event is free to attend, with food trucks and vendors opening at 6:30 p.m. and live music beginning at 7 p.m. Families and music lovers of all ages are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and plenty of energy to enjoy the summer evening.
The concert takes place at Village Green Park, located at 3141 Bridgeway Drive, adjacent to Rancho Cordova City Hall. The outdoor venue has become a go-to gathering spot for the community during the summer season. With strong crowds already showing up for country rockers American Mile and last week’s rock-pop group White Water, organizers are expecting another lively night with the arrival of the Neon Playboys and their groove-heavy set.
The 2025 Summer Concert Series continues with two more shows following this week: country trio Ariel Jean takes the stage August 22, and local R&B favorites Mercy Me close out the series on August 29.
