EL DORADO HILLS – El Dorado Hills Town Center’s Live on the Boulevard is set to deliver one of its most anticipated evenings of the summer this Thursday, August 28, as the acclaimed Folsom Lake Symphony performs a special outdoor concert at the Steven Young Amphitheater. Under the direction of Maestro Peter Jaffe, the program, titled Symphony al Fresco, promises an unforgettable evening of world-class music under the stars.
The evening’s repertoire spans patriotic, classical, Broadway, pop, and rock favorites, blending timeless symphonic works with crowd-pleasing hits. Audiences will be treated to stirring renditions of The Star-Spangled Banner, John Williams’ Superman March, highlights from Wicked, and the dramatic Devil’s Dance from The Witches of Eastwick. Other highlights include Borodin’s Polovtsian Dance No. 17, Lennon and McCartney’s The Best of the Beatles, the Gibb brothers’ disco anthem Night Fever, and selections from Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, including Baba Yagaand The Great Gate of Kyiv.
Now in its 21st season, the Folsom Lake Symphony has grown into one of Northern California’s leading regional orchestras, known for bringing professional, full-symphony performances to accessible community venues. Thursday’s performance at Town Center offers a unique opportunity to experience the symphony in a casual, outdoor setting while enjoying the warm summer night air.
The concert begins at 7 p.m., with amphitheater gates opening at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free, and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets, and food and beverage vendors will be on site. All bags must be clear plastic or smaller than 8x6x1 inches, and outside alcohol, drinks, or coolers are not permitted.
This is the first of three special community concerts presented by the Folsom Lake Symphony. Other performances in the Community Concert Series include the “Family Concert: Young Person’s Guide” on March 14, 2026, at the Harris Center, which features the ever-popular instrument petting zoo, and the free outdoor concert Twilight Delight on May 16, 2026, at the Zittel Family Amphitheater in the Folsom Historic District.
Located at 4364 Town Center Blvd, the Steven Young Amphitheater continues to be the centerpiece of Live on the Boulevard, the region’s premier Thursday night summer concert tradition, offering 12 weeks of performances from rock and soul tributes to full symphonic experiences like this week’s.
The 2025 Live on the Boulevard concert schedule concludes with:
September 4 – Big Crush
September 11 – Bad Jovi – Tribute to Bon Jovi & Bad Company
September 18 – Tainted Love – Best of the 80s Live
