FOLSOM — Labor Day weekend is here, and while the summer heat lingers outside, Historic Folsom’s Powerhouse is keeping things cool with a packed three-day lineup of live music and celebrations at 614 Sutter Street. From a country party to dance floor favorites, an alumni reunion, and powerhouse blues, there’s something for everyone ready to end summer on a high note.

The weekend kicks off Friday, August 29, with the Morgan Wallen Experience at 7 p.m. Fans can sing along to all of the country star’s chart-topping hits in a show designed to deliver the ultimate Morgan Wallen party atmosphere. With great drinks, high energy, and a dance floor ready for action, this early show is set to fire up the crowd and set the tone for the holiday weekend.

The music continues late Friday night at 10 p.m. with Adam Aldama and the Aces. Known for their versatility and creativity, the five-piece band brings a rotating series of tribute projects to the stage, from Prince and Bruno Mars tributes to Y2K-era favorites. Led by Adam Aldama on vocals alongside Veronica Ballejos, Brett Sackett, Keywan Ryland, and Jimmy O’Shea, the Aces turn every set into a nostalgic dance party that spans decades and keeps the energy sky-high.

Adam Aldama and the Aces

On Saturday, August 30, the fun starts early with the Norte Del Rio Alumni & Friends End of Summer Partybeginning at 2 p.m. This third annual gathering brings together alumni from classes of 1956 through 1982 for an afternoon of music, memories, and camaraderie. The Jeff Watson Band provides the live soundtrack from 3 to 6 p.m., with admission set at $10 cash at the door.

That night, The Dirty Clean closes out Saturday with a 10 p.m. performance. This eclectic six-piece band draws on decades of collective experience, with members who have toured alongside acts like Journey, Ben Harper, and Huey Lewis & The News. Their setlist takes listeners on a journey through rock and pop from the ’60s to today, reworking classics with a modern twist. Expect everything from Neil Diamond and 80s pop to 90s grunge, 2000s pop-punk, Harry Styles, and of course, the mandatory Tom Petty stop along the way. One thing you won’t hear is a tired cover of “Mustang Sally”—this band prides itself on keeping things fresh, fun, and dance-worthy.

Mitch Woods

The weekend wraps up Sunday, August 31, with the Powerhouse of Blues series featuring Mitch Woods and His Rocket 88s at 3 p.m. For more than three decades, Woods has been carrying the torch for the great jump ’n’ boogie traditions of the 1940s and ’50s, fusing them with New Orleans rhythm and blues and his own playful, piano-driven style. Backed by his Rocket 88s, Woods delivers what he calls “rock-a-boogie,” a lively and infectious brand of music that bridges past and present and guarantees a good time.

Located in the heart of Historic Folsom, Powerhouse combines its trademark nightlife atmosphere with some of the best live music in the region. All shows are 21 and over. For tickets and more information, visit www.powerhousepub.com.
