Saturday and Sunday bring Nipper Brothers, Spazmatics and a powerhouse blues double bill to finish the post-holiday weekend
The holiday season may be winding down, but the live music energy at Historic Folsom’s Powerhouse Pub is just getting warmed up as the venue rolls out its post-Christmas lineup. From a high-voltage country tribute to a full-tilt dance party and a blues bill pairing two acclaimed guitarists, the final weekend of 2025 delivers something for every kind of music fan.
The weekend opens Friday night with the Morgan Wallen Experience, taking the stage at 6:30 p.m. The high-energy tribute brings Wallen’s chart-topping sound to life with a full-band show that recreates favorites like Whiskey Glasses and I’m the Problem with power, polish and heart. The performance focuses on delivering the feel and fire of Wallen’s music rather than impersonation, offering an authentic tribute crafted by musicians with major-label experience.
Later that night, Powerhouse turns up the holiday after-party vibes as Adam Aldama and The Aces headline the Day After Xmas Party at 10 p.m. With a reputation for crowd-moving choreography, genre-blending harmonies and a catalogue that jumps from Prince and Bruno Mars to Y2K throwbacks, The Aces bring one of the most dynamic dance shows in the region. Friday’s holiday blowout features two DJ rooms pulsing with nonstop hits, five fully stocked bars, the club’s massive LED dance floor and optional VIP upgrades for groups who want to elevate the celebration.

Saturday kicks off with the Nipper Brothers and their Grateful Dead tribute at 3 p.m., channeling the improvisational spirit, harmonies and communal feel that defined the Dead’s live legacy. Featuring Joe and Scott Nipper alongside a seasoned lineup of Northern California musicians, the band focuses on honoring the heart of the Hunter and Barlow songbook while delivering the shared musical experience that Dead fans cherish.
On Saturday night, the energy surges again as the Spazmatics hit the stage at 10 p.m. with their wildly popular, geek-chic, 1980s-inspired performance. Born from a quirky origin story involving a lost physics debate and a halftime dare, the band has become one of the most beloved acts on the circuit. Their shows blend new-wave nostalgia, comedic flair, high-energy musicianship and nonstop dance-floor fun. Additional tickets will be available at the door.

Sunday’s Powerhouse of Blues brings together two standout artists beginning at 3 p.m. with Shane Dwight and Ryder Green. Dwight, a genre-defying guitarist, vocalist and songwriter with more than 3,500 performances and national acclaim from outlets including USA Today and Guitar World, delivers a blend of blues, rock, country and soul grounded in California grit and Nashville depth. His 2019 album No One Loves Me Better marked a defining point in his career, bringing together Grammy-winning collaborators and producing some of the most personal and cinematic work of his catalog. His songs move from the tender to the defiant to the haunting, exploring themes of heartbreak, resilience and redemption.

Looking ahead to New Year’s Eve at Powerhouse
Powerhouse is also preparing to close out 2025 in spectacular fashion as it transforms into one of the region’s most electrifying New Year’s Eve destinations. The venue will open its doors at 5 p.m. and build toward a high-energy celebration that officially blasts off when the live music starts at 10 p.m. Revelers will find themselves immersed in a multi-room experience filled with nonstop entertainment, beginning with the signature sound of Adam Aldama and The Aces, who will headline the night with the dynamic blend of choreography and genre-spanning hits that have made them crowd favorites throughout Northern California.

The celebration continues across additional dance rooms featuring sets by DJ Ano and DJ Pete Alexander, each bringing their own style to keep the music pulsing as the countdown approaches.
