Folsom Concert Association concert set for March 15 at the Harris Center for the Arts
Fans of timeless singer-songwriter music will soon have a chance to experience the sounds of one of America’s most beloved artists when a celebrated tribute show honoring James Taylor arrives in Folsom later this month.
The Folsom Concert Association will present “How Sweet It Is! Steve Leslie Sings James Taylor” on Sunday, March 15 at 2 p.m. at the Harris Center for the Arts, offering audiences a heartfelt afternoon celebrating the songs that helped define generations of music lovers.
The concert spotlights the enduring catalog of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee James Taylor, whose classics such as “Fire and Rain,” “You’ve Got a Friend,” and “Carolina in My Mind” have become staples of American songwriting. The performance features Grammy Award-winning songwriter and recording artist Steve Leslie, whose warm baritone voice, acoustic guitar work and storytelling style aim to capture the spirit and authenticity of Taylor’s legendary sound.
Leslie brings more than three decades of musical experience to the stage for the tribute production. In addition to honoring Taylor’s iconic catalog, he also performs selections from his own songwriting career. His work has been recorded by notable country music stars including Kenny Rogers, George Strait and Darius Rucker.
Joining Leslie onstage is Nashville multi-instrumentalist, singer and producer Kyle Tupper, who provides piano and keyboard accompaniment throughout the show.
Audience reactions to the production have been enthusiastic, with many praising both the musicianship and the personal connection Leslie creates with concertgoers during the performance. One fan described the experience as energizing, noting that the singer’s generosity with his time, stories and musical insights added a special dimension to the show.
The concert is part of the Folsom Concert Association’s 2025–2026 season, a long-running series that has brought live music performances to the region for more than three decades. Since its founding, the organization has presented more than 140 concerts and continues to offer a range of musical genres throughout the season.
The nonprofit, volunteer-run association partners with the Harris Center for the Arts to present its annual lineup of performances. Proceeds from the concerts help support several community outreach programs, including bringing live music performances to seniors in residential communities, awarding college scholarships to high school students and refurbishing donated instruments for schools in need.
Tickets for the March 15 performance are currently available and range from $35 to $50 depending on seating selection.
